Adam Ant (birth name Stuart Leslie Goddard) was born in Marylebone (London, England) in 1954 and is a singer, musician, and author. He began his musical journey as the bass guitarist for British pub rock band Bazooka Joe and went on to make a name for himself as the lead singer of post punk group Adam and the Ants. The band released 3 studio albums after which it split and Adam decided to pursue a solo career. He released his debut solo album (Friend or Foe) in 1982 and it was certified Gold in both the US and the UK. He went on to have a stellar career with 7 solo albums, 4 compilation albums, 1 box set, 13 singles, 5 video albums, and 26 music videos. He’s also starred in many films, TV shows, theatre plays, and in 2007, he released his autobiography titled Stand and Deliver: The Autobiography. He’s received many accolades including a BRIT Award for Best British Album, an Ivor Novello Awards for Songwriter of the Year, and a Q Award. He’s also been nominated for a Grammy Award for Best New Artist.
