Sabrina Ann Lynn Carpenter was born in Lehigh Valley (Pennsylvania) in 1999 and is a singer, songwriter, and actress. She began her journey in the performance arts in 2010 with a guest role on the NBC drama Law and Order: SVU. 2 years later, she got the role of Maya Hart on the Disney sitcom Girl Meets World and in 2014, she released her debut single, Can't Blame a Girl for Trying. She cites Christina Aguilera and Adele as her main influences and her musical style is best described as a blend of contemporary pop/rock, teen pop, and dance pop (a fusion of electronic dance music and pop music, with influences of disco music, post-disco, new wave, synthpop, electropop, and house). She’s had a stellar career with 2 studio albums, 1 extended play, 9 singles, 9 music videos, and she’s collaborated with Nathaniel Hawk, Cameron Hawk, Ali Brustofski, Danielle Lowe, Rowan Blanchard. She’s been the opening act for Miranda Cosgrove, Ariana Grande, and she’s starred in many TV shows and films. She’s received many accolades including 2 Radio Disney Music Awards (for Best Crush Song and Best Anthem).
