Three Dog Night, California's sensational pop, rock, and soul artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Florida Theater!
Three Dog Night was formed in Los Angeles in 1967 by vocalists Danny Hutton, Cory Wells, and Chuck Negron. They initially called themselves Redwood but a year later, they changed to Three Dog Night after it was suggested by Danny’s girlfriend (actress June Fairchild). She'd read a magazine article about indigenous Australians who, on cold nights, would sleep in a hole in the ground while embracing a dingo (wild dog). On colder nights they would sleep with two dingos and, if it was freezing, it was a “three dog night”. The band’s been through many line up over the years and it currently consists Danny (vocals), Michael Allsup (guitar), Paul Kingery (bass, guitar, vocals), Pat Bautz (drums), Eddie Reasoner (keyboards), and David Morgan (vocals). Their musical sytle is best described as a blend of pop rock, soft rock, and blue eyed soul. They’ve had a stellar career with 12 studio albums, 4 live albums, 7 compilation albums, and 24 singles (21 of which are Billboard Top 40 hits). Their debut studio album was certified Platinum in the US and each of their next 7 albums has achieved Gold status. The band was inducted into The Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2000.
